Kim Kardashian is helping her stepdad Bruce Jenner deal with his deep-seated physical insecurities by documenting his plastic surgery on her reality TV series.
Kardashian sent gossips into a frenzy after she recently hinted a family member on Keeping Up with the Kardashians would be getting plastic surgery on the programme.
Now she has revealed it is former track athlete Jenner who went under the knife - after being subjected to years of mocking from the press following a facelift in the 1980s.
And Kardashian is hoping Jenner will overcome his insecurities after people watch his transformation and hear about his struggle with his looks on television.
She tells People.com, "Bruce has gotten a lot of media criticism in the past for getting an ill-advised partial facelift and a nose job.
"He has never ever spoken about this until now. It's very heartfelt and I think people will see how sweet and simply human Bruce is."
And Kardashian is impressed with the results of Jenner's second facelift, insisting the 59 year old looks better than ever.
She writes on her blog: "Unfortunately, the result (of the original surgery) wasn't what Bruce had hoped for and for years since then he has been the victim of cruel taunts from the media. Since he's turning 60 in October, Bruce felt it was time to correct the mistakes made by the previous doctor so he went to a new doctor for a second facelift.
"The results are amazing! Bruce looks better than ever and he is extremely happy with the result."
The episode is due to air in the U.S. on Sunday (17May09).
