Kim Kardashian and sisters Kourtney and Khloe have teamed up with the ultimate glamour girl, Barbie, to launch their own range of the legendary dolls. A report in the New York Post on Wednesday (January 4, 2012) suggested the Kardashian empire was set to expand into glossy magazines, but it seems the reality TV sisters have a few more pressing projects.
A source tells US Weekly magazine that Kim, Kourtney and Khloe are set to be immortalized in an upcoming limited-edition line of Barbie dolls. An insider revealed, "The dolls will reflect the girls' measurements and may even come in Kardashian-designed outfits". The news comes after Kim, 31, mentioned the world famous doll in one of her Twitter posts over the festive season, hinting, "Merry Christmas Barbs! I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of each other [in 2012]. Shopping soon!" The Kardashians are not the first celebrities to make the foray into Barbie's world - toy maker Mattel recently produced a Grace Kelly line of the famous doll, as well as a Dancing With The Stars limited edition set. Beyonce and Heidi Klum has also been immortalized in plastic, as has Nicki Minaj, who appeared as a Barbie-esque doll on the cover of her hit record Pink Friday.
The Barbie-deal is the latest sign that the Kardashian-machine shows no sign of slowing down, despite a slight backlash against the family in late 2011 following Kim's disastrous 72 day marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries. As mentioned, the famous-clan are also in talks to create their own glossy magazines, featuring style and beauty tips.
