SEX AND THE CITY star Kim Cattrall has bought the rights to classic 1950's play THE COUNTRY GIRL - and plans to turn it into a new TV show.

Cattrall is planning to produce and star in a new version of the play made famous on the big screen by Grace Kelly in 1954.

Her character is a loyal wife of a washed up, self destructive actor who is offered the chance of a comeback with the lead role in a stage musical. It is one of two projects Cattrall currently has in the works with America's HBO network, which produces Sex And The City.

The other, SEXUAL INTELLIGENCE, is a feature-length documentary which she will co-produce and host later this year (03).

The final series of long-running hit show Sex And The City comes to an end early next year (04).
