Kill Bill movie maker Quentin Tarantino is bidding to resurrect the movie career of veteran British musical star Tommy Steele.

The 67-year-old star of 1967 musical hit HALF A SIXPENCE retired from the big screen 25 years ago, choosing instead to ply his trade since in small stage productions in the UK. But Tarantino is keen to cast Steele in a future movie.

The director - responsible for breathing new life into the careers of stars John Travolta, Pam Grier and DAVID CARRADINE - says, "I've always liked Tommy Steele.

"When I think of him, I think of that Disney movie, THE HAPPIEST Millionaire."
