Kiefer Sutherland will not appear in a New York court today (17.07.09) to answer assault charges as the date has been postponed.
Kiefer Sutherland's court appearance has been postponed.
The '24' actor was meant to appear before a judge in New York today (17.07.09) to answer assault charges relating to an altercation with fashion designer Jack Mccollough in May, but a Manhattan district attorney's office spokesperson said the hearing had been cancelled.
A new date has not yet been set.
The 42-year-old actor was charged with misdemeanour assault after allegedly headbutting jack at New York nightspot SubMercer on May 4.
It is claimed a scuffle broke out after Kiefer accused Jack of pushing over actress Brooke Shields.
However, Kiefer went on to apologise for the incident, with himself and Jack releasing a joint statement in which they appeared to settled their differences.
Kiefer said: "I am sorry about what happened that night and sincerely regret that Mr McCollough was injured."
Jack added: "I appreciate Mr Sutherland's statement and wish him well."
