Khloe Kardashian might be dating Tristan Thompson now, but her ex James Harden has recently reflected on his own eight months with the reality star and how much of a struggle it was to adjust to the wave of newfound mainstream fame through their relationship.

The NBA star who plays for the Houston Rockets revealed in an interview this week that dating a Kardashian sister wasn't all it's cracked up to be. While the extra fame wasn't altogether a bad thing, it did give him a chance to contemplate whether or not that's something he wants for his career.

'I didn't like all the attention', he told Sports Illustrated magazine. 'I feel like it was for no reason. I wasn't getting anything out of it except my name out there and my face out there, and I don't need that. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it wasn't me. I don't need pictures of myself when I'm driving my car. Who cares? What shoes am I wearing? Who cares? Where am I eating? Who cares? It was unnecessary stuff that I think trickled down to my teammates. I had to eliminate that.'

James dated Khloe between June 2015 and February 2016 after meeting her at the basketball-themed birthday party of her brother-in-law Kanye West at the Staples Center in LA. The relationship came months after the 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star split with French Montana, with whom she began dating after her separation from then-husband Lamar Odom. She has been in a relationship with Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson since July 2016.

According to Khloe, though, her break-up with James Harden was less about his aversion to fame and more about him cheating. 'I've always said: 'We don't need to be monogamous'', she revealed on her show 'Kocktails With Khloe'. ''There's a lot of s*** going on in both of our lives. You live in Houston, I live in LA Let's just see each other when we see each other'. Why wouldn't you say, 'OK, that's great'? He sought me out, wanted to be committed, then wasn't committed. [I] found out he wasn't, and I got the receipts to prove it.'
