Keyshia Cole Arrested After Allegedly Assaulting A Woman In L.A.

Keyshia Cole was allegedly arrested on Friday (19th September) for assaulting a woman. Reports are suggesting she was motivated by jealousy and hit a woman she believed had spent the night with her reported boyfriend, rapper Birdman.

Keyshia Cole has reportedly been arrested for assaulting a woman.

Cole was, according to TMZ, arrested in the early hours of Friday morning and spent a number of hours in jail. Cole is currently dating rapper Birdman AKA Bryan Williams and the incident allegedly occurred at his West Hollywood home.

Reports suggest Cole turned up at Birdman's house at 5am and did not respond well when she saw another woman in his apartment. It seems Cole hit the victim, who has been named as Sabrina Mercadel, as she believed Mercadel had spent the night with Birdman.

Sources, also speaking to TMZ, claim Mercadel is an old friend of Birdman's and there were four other people present at the time of the assault.

After the assault, the police were called and Cole was arrested. She was charged with battery and an outstanding reckless driving warrant. She was released later that day on a $46,000 bail.

Cole's representative has declined to comment on the incident. Cole posted a number of cryptic quotes on Instagram shortly after her release. One post, added on Friday, read "My real and your real ain't the same thing that's why we don't click." Another reads "If your phone doesn't ring it's me."

32-year-old Cole is best known for her 2007 album Just Like You for which she was nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 50th Grammy Awards. During the past few years, Cole and her then-husband NBA Player Daniel Gibson were the subject of a reality show Keyshia and Daniel: Family First. The couple split up in March of this year after three years of marriage.
