Movie star Kevin Spacey has turned his back on Hollywood to concentrate on his much-derided management of London's Old Vic theatre. The Oscar-winning American Beauty actor reveals his nine years as artistic director will not be disrupted by blockbuster forays, insisting the stage remains his number one priority. And despite a string of poor reviews and calls for his resignation, Spacey couldn't be happier with his new life in England. He says, "Movies have to fit round my theatre schedule. For 10 years I worked on films solidly and had to fit my theatre round that. "Then I thought: 'Do I want the next 10 years to be the same? No, I don't.' "So now my movie work fits round the theatre. "Sure, I miss my friends and family sometimes but I'm settled here. I love the energy of London."
