Kevin McClory - Comments and Message Board

Kevin McClory is one of the great men in the 'world of James Bond.' Mr. McClory fought for years to do 'Warhead' and the American courts should not have betrayed him, the way they did. Indeed, Kevin McClory won his rights in Great Britain to do 'Thunderball' and the right to use Bond, Moneypenny, M and other characters. McClory did not steal Ian Fleming's plot. Fleming used McClory's script without notification to the producer and without permission in his novel, "Thunderball." The fact that U.S. courts claim McClory did not post his copyright notice in time and that it expired and all rights reverted to the Fleming heirs is the 'height of intellectual piracy.' Certainly, there is room for Bond films made outside the walls of Eon, Danjaq and MGM. The actor, Adrian Paul would have been perfect as James Bond in a McClory version of 007. Or, that other fellow, who recently lost his job--what's his name again--Brosnan something or other?...If he had remained as Bond-it is possible-George Lazenby would have been the greatest James Bond of them all.
