Comedian Kevin Hart saved himself from a Valentine's Day (14Feb14) strip down at basketball's annual Celebrity All-Star Game on Friday (14Feb14) by handing his Most Valuable Player (Mvp) honour to the star of the other team.

Fans voted Hart the Mvp for a third successive year at the NBA All-Star weekend event, but he decided opponent Arne Duncan, the U.S. Secretary of Education, was more deserving of the honour.

Hart had previously proclaimed he would strip "butt naked" and retire from basketball if he was named the Mvp for a third year running.

Duncan, a former Harvard University basketball star, and his East team beat Hart's West squad 60-56.

The politician scored a third of his team's points in the game, which also featured Snoop Dogg and actors Columbus Short, Michael B. Jordan and Jesse Williams.
