Hollywood actor Kevin Costner is in talks to play the male equivalent of MRS ROBINSON in a movie which will serve as a follow-up to '60s classic THE GRADUATE.

Former Friends beauty Jennifer Aniston has already signed up to play the woman seduced by Costner's character, while Shirley Maclaine will portray her grandmother - the woman who inspired the character originally played by ANNE BANCROFT.

Trade publication DAILY VARIETY reports the film will follow a young woman who puts a halt on her marriage plans so she can return home to Pasadena, California and unravel a slew of family secrets.

She learns that The Graduate was probably based on her family, her grandmother was Mrs Robinson and she doesn't know her real father.

Shooting on the currently-untitled film is scheduled to begin this summer (04).
