Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon has filmed a spoof public service announcement (Psa) explaining 1980s culture for those too young to remember.

In the clip, filmed for Mashable.com, the Footloose star lectures youngsters on the importance of "'80s awareness", ranting about cult 1980s game Rubik's Cube and the lack of cell phone apps.

He says, "I would like to talk to you about '80s awareness. Awareness of '80s culture and technology has been in a significant decline. Especially among a certain demographic - I'm talking to you, Millennials (those born after 1985)... All you guys born after 1985 have no idea how hard life was... If you wanted to ask a girl out, there wasn't a (dating app)... I went to the White Pages - Google it - and called her house."

After finishing the clip, Bacon is shown walking outside and encountering a group of young people who are all playing with their cell phones, and he yells at them, "You people will never know the comfort of parachute pants!"
