Kesha is back and she is killing it. Her new video for promotional single 'Woman' sees her don a stetson, cruise around the neighbourhood in an old cadillac and party the house down while singing about the power of femininity. The video was created by Kesha with a little help from her older brother Lagan Sebert.
'Woman' follows last week's single release 'Praying' (a more melancholy number which appears to directly address her trouble with Dr. Luke) and features the funk-soul band The Dap-Kings Horns. There's a rawness to this song, with Kesha insisting on keeping in the imperfections - like spontaneous laughter mid-song - which only adds to the honest nature. It's a total feminist anthem and will appear on her forthcoming third album 'Rainbow'.
It's been a long time coming but we will finally get to see this eagerly anticipated new record on August 11th 2017. It comes five years since her last album 'Warrior', thanks to her inability to leave her contract with Kemosabe Records. Nevertheless, the wait so far appears to be worth it.
'Rainbow' has been produced by Ryan Lewis, Brody Brown and Andrew Pearson, and also features guest artists the likes of Eagles of Death Metal and Dolly Parton.
The season 7 premiere guests featured some cast members we haven't seen much of for a while.
This year's Rotterdam event was definitely one to remember.
