BIG & RICH star Kenny Alphin has been left devastated by the discovery of a missing friend's remains in Haiti.
The country star has spent weeks in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince trying to find pal Walt Ratterman, who was preparing for a meeting at the city's Hotel Montana when it collapsed around him during the 12 January (10) earthquake.
In an interview with CMT.com earlier this month (Feb10), Alphin revealed he was still hopeful his friend would be found alive, stating, "I am still pretty sure that Walt is going to come walking up to me anywhere now, any minute, and he'll tap me on the shoulder and look me right in the eye, and go, 'You look like you could use a little help.' And I'll go, 'You son of a b**ch. Yeah, grab a hammer.'"
But Ratterman's remains have since been found in the rubble of the Hotel Montana, and his family has been notified.

Country star Kenny Alphin is still looking for a missing friend in the rubble of Port-au-Prince, Haiti - but accepts it's unlikely he'll be successful.
The Big & Rich star arrived in Haiti last month (Jan10) in a desperate attempt to find eco-warrior Walt Ratterman, who was preparing for a meeting at the capital's Montana Hotel when a 7.0-magnitude earthquake brought the building down, and has since become part of the relief effort in the city.
Alphin was performing when the earthquake shook on 12 January (10) and called his pal's wife as soon as he heard the news - to make sure Ratterman was OK.
She explained that she hadn't heard from her husband and the singer/songwriter made immediate plans to fly to the Dominican Republic and find transport to Haiti.

BIG + RICH star Kenny Alphin has just returned from a low-key mercy mission to Sudan with his wife.
The colourful country star helped deliver medical and school supplies, musical instruments and clothing to the Kunyuk School for Girls in Akon.
The Alphins became patrons of the school after donating $50,000 (GBP25,000) to a charity that assists and protects Sudanese women.
The money came from the singer/songwriter's portion of royalties he received from penning Tim MCGraw's Last Dollar (Fly Away).
As a result of the couple's support, the Kunyuk School has swelled from 250 pupils to over 1,000.
He is now planning to return to perform for the kids, stating, "I would spend every nickel I could get my hands on to help these people."
Country duo BIG + RICH are producing a new documentary about a battle in Vietnam in 1965 that claimed the lives of 48 US soldiers.
The documentary stems from the pair's timely new tune 8TH OF NOVEMBER, inspired by Niles Harris, one of the soldiers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade who survived an ambush by more than 1,200 Vietcong.
