Kelsey Grammer plans to marry as soon as possible.

The 'Frasier' actor is pressing on with plans to tie the knot with British air hostess Kayte Walsh, despite the fact his divorce from estranged third wife Camille is not yet finalised.

A statement issued by Kelsey through his representative said: "Kayte and I are marrying because we are in love and we see no reason to postpone our happiness any longer. End of story."

Kelsey, 55, started divorce proceedings against 'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' star Camille in July, but according to the law in California - where the filing was made - they cannot be legally separated until January 6 next year, although he and Kayte, 29, got engaged in November.

They are also planning for their nuptials to be a low key affair.

They added: "We are planning something we wish to be a private affair among several of our friends.

"The details will be shared only with whom we wish to share it. Anything else is conjecture and false. Kayte and I are the only reliable source for this story."

Kelsey's divorce from Camille will, however, likely come at a high price, as they do not have a pre-nuptial agreement, meaning the couple will split the assets they amassed during their 13-year marriage - which is said to be some $100,000,000 through property investment.

Camille - who has two children with Kelsey - has also told how she found her first Christmas alone hard without her estranged spouse.

She said: "It's not easy. The loneliness - Kelsey and I, this was our favourite holiday to spend together

"Kelsey enjoyed decorating the tree and that's something we all did as a family, and so last night I was decorating the tree with the kids alone and it brought a tear to my eye, or several."

She also added that she was upset at the way Kelsey split with her, after he announced Kayte was pregnant just weeks after his divorce papers were filed, though she later lost the baby.

Camille added: "I respect him as a person, I don't respect how he handled the affair and the divorce and how things went down."
