R+B star Kelly Rowland wants to follow in the footsteps of her former DESTINY'S CHILD bandmate Michelle Williams and take to the New York stage. The My Boo hitmaker is reportedly keen to try her hand at acting on Broadway, and has instructed her manager, former bandmate Beyonce Knowles' father Matthew Knowles, and his team to help her land a role in a hit show. According to MediaTakeOut.com, Knowles has already contacted the producers of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and The Color Purple, with the producers of both stageshows expressing interest in having Rowland join their casts. Michelle Williams has previously starred in the Broadway productions of Aida and The Color Purple. Rowland's acting experience includes roles in movies Freddy vs. Jason in 2002, and The Seat Filler in 2004.
