Samuel L. Jackson is in negotiations for action movie 'Deathgames'.

The 'Snakes on a Plane' actor would potentially star alongside Kellan Lutz - who is also in talks for a leading role - in the movie, which begins shooting next month in Louisiana.

Jonah Loop, who previously worked as a visual effects supervisor, will make his directorial debut with the film.

Brad Krevoy and Mike Callaghan are producing, The Hollywood Reporter states.

The movie tells the tale of a young man who is kidnapped and forced into fighting in a modern-day Gladiator battle.

Lutz would play the gladiator character, while Jackson would star as the orchestrator of the games.

Jackson has a number of films coming up in the near future, including 'Iron Man 2' with Robert Downey Jr, 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' with Vin Diesel and action comedy 'The Other Guys' with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell.

Lutz is currently filming comedy 'Love, Wedding, Marriage' with Mandy Moore and Jane Seymour.
