Keith Urban fears he has lost all his guitars and musical equipment in the heavy floods which have ravaged Nashville, Tennessee.
The country singer was due to begin work on a new album on Monday (03May10) but was forced to abandon plans after severe storms caused flooding across the capital city.
And the Sweet Thing hitmaker admits he is fearing the worst for the gear he was keeping in a storage facility.
Urban tells CNN anchor Rick Sanchez, "I wish we could talk to each other under better circumstances. I am actually in the studio recording. We were supposed to start yesterday, but we could not get all the trucks in to get all my equipment out of this big storage facility.
"We thought we would leave it a day and hoped the waters would subside, but instead they continued to go up and up.
"At this stage it is possible that I have lost all my equipment, all my road equipment, and all of my guitars and amps, everything. We have to wait and see to what extent the waters came up... but we know it is not good."
But the star admits he and his wife Nicole Kidman are fortunate to have survived the disaster, which is estimated to have claimed 29 lives so far.
He adds, "This pales in comparison, people have lost everything... We are certainly financially helping, my wife and I are."
Urban isn't the only country star affected by the freak weather - Toby Keith and Brad Paisley have also had their equipment damaged by water.
