Male Vocalist of the Year Keith Urban paid an emotional tribute to his wife Nicole Kidman in a pre-written address at the Country Music Association Awards last night (06NOV06). The troubled star, who could not attend the event because of rehab commitments, hailed the actress for her patience with his alcohol abuse when he was named top male singer in Nashville, Tennessee for the second year in a row. He received a standing ovation when his name was announced, and his award was accepted by RONNIE DUNN, who read his letter. Urban wrote, "To my wife, Nicole, I love you. I'm looking forward to coming home and seeing you all soon." Dunn added, "We love you Keith - good luck, brother." Dunn had his own reason to celebrate at the star-studded awards show - his hit track BELIEVE, recorded with partner KIX BROOKS, snatched three trophies, including Single and Song of the Year. Rascal Flatts were named Vocal Group of the Year while American Idol star Carrie Underwood picked up two gongs.
