Australian singer Keith Urban was the toast of Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday (08Dec12) as he was honoured for his contributions to the city's country music community.
The Somebody Like You hitmaker, 45, received the prestigious Harmony Award at the Nashville Symphony's annual gala, following in the footsteps of previous recipients like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.
And Urban, who lives in Nashville with his actress wife Nicole Kidman, told the crowd the accolade was a real dream come true.
He said, "For me, it's the specific Nashville aspect of it. Twenty years ago I moved here, and growing up in Australia it was this life-long dream of living in Nashville. And the fact that I've gotten to do that for so long, and now something like this is happening, it is really sweet."
Taking to Twitter.com on Sunday morning (09Dec12), Urban told his fans: "So honored to accept the Harmony Award last nite!!! Thank You @NashvilleSymph!!!!"
