The Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards is now a children's book author?

Keith Richards has partnered with his daughter Theodora Richards, who is an artist, to create a picture book for infants.

The 70 year-old's new project is titled, 'Gus and Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar', and it is slated hit the book stores this fall.

The inspiration for the story is very personal to Richards, it is based from his 2010 memoir 'Life' and depicts the first time he was introduced to music by his grandfather Gus.

Theodore Augustus Dupree (Gus) was a member in a jazz band and was the reason why Keith became interested in playing the guitar. The upcoming book, will contain photos of his grandfather as well as other personal family snaps.

"I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I'm talking about," Keith said in a statement, (via BBC).

"The bond, the special bond, between kids and grandparents is unique and should be treasured. This is a story of one of those magical moments. May I be as great a grandfather as Gus was to me," he added.

The book's illustrator, Theodora, was keen on being involved with the project so she could learn about her family's history.

"When I found out they wanted me to be a part of this project, my immediate instinct was to say yes, and I am so happy I did," she said. "To be able to explore my father's relationship with his grandfather was a gift in itself. The things that I've learnt during this whole process have just been life affirming."

The picture book will be published by Little, Brown and their senior VP, Megan Tingley, added, "Who wouldn't welcome the opportunity to meet Keith Richards as a young boy?"

"Gus and Me invites readers to be in the room at the electrifying moment that Keith holds a guitar in his hands for the first time," she concluded.

'Gus and Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar' is set for release on September 9th 2014.
