Actress Keira Knightley's mother mistook her own daughter for NATALIE PORTMAN on the set of Star Wars: EPISODE I - THE PHANTOM MENACE.

In the epic sequel, 19-year-old Knightley played a maid who disguises herself as Portman's character QUEEN PADMé AMIDALA to act as a decoy - a move that nearly confused Knightley's mother Sharman MacDonald into taking Portman home by mistake.

Knightley says, "We were both wearing the same costume and we were stood next to each other. But I was only 12 and on it for about three weeks. So I don't really remember anything from the shoot apart from being very uncomfortable in the costumes. Mum nearly took her back with her."

The new STAR WARS film EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH is due to be released in May next year (05) where Portman will again star alongside movie hunk Ewan McGregor.
