British actress Keira Knightley loved the fake blood and gore in the climax of new medieval action adventure King Arthur because it was like playing as a kid.

Whereas many young stars would shy away from such a bloody role, coloured head to toe in warrior blue, Knightley relished it.

She says, "It was a bit like being an 11-year-old in the playground. You got dirty, you've got all these costumes and play knives.

"I suppose I did love it; maybe a bit too much, but nobody got hurt, so it was fine."
