Keira Knightley stars opposite Steve Carell in the dark comedy 'Seeking a Friend For the End of the World' - released on Friday (June 22, 2012) - and the actress has been speaking of her plans should she ever have to face a real-life Armageddon.
The movie prompts the audience to think how they'd spend their last days on earth, though it's an easy answer for Knightley, who said, "We would eat a lot. Cake! Lots of cake.We would sit and eat chocolate cake. eat until the world exploded". The film focuses on Carell and Knightley's characters, who form an unlikely companionship just before the earth is destroyed by an asteroid. Though the film sounds bleak, the British actress assures that it's not all tears and tantrums, saying, "Given that it is about the end of the world, which is obviously a dark and depressing subject matter, it is incredibly positive and that is what amazed me when I first read the script - how life affirming it is, and it's really about what is important in life". Carell stars opposite his wife Nancy in the movie, and Knightley hinted that she'd one day share screen-time with her fiance James Righton, saying, "I've never worked with a significant other, but I should imagine it would be lovely. When you get together I don't see why you shouldn't get on when you are working together".
The couple announced their engagement last month, after dating for around 15 months. They were introduced by mutual friend ALEXA CHUNG.
