Kayvan Novak - Celebrities attend the European Premiere of The Hateful Eight at Odeon Leicester Square in London. Legendary auteur Quentin Tarantino will bring his highly anticipated eighth film THE HATEFUL EIGHT to the big screen on 8th January 2016. The film will open in glorious 70mm in London's West End alongside a theatrical digital release nationwide. Beloved by filmmakers and cinephiles for its wide-scope and high-resolution image quality, 70mm stock captures nearly twice the landscape of the more common 35mm and digital styles. Six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as "The Hangman," will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town's new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie's Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie's, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Demian Bichir), who's taking care of Minnie's while she's visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Michael Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Bruce Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all... Written and directed by Academy Award® winning writer/director Quentin Tarantino, THE HATEFUL EIGHT is produced by Richard N. Gladstein, Stacey Sher and Shannon McIntosh. Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein and Georgia Kacandes are executive at Odeon Leicester Square - London, United Kingdom - Thursday 10th December 2015

Cuban Fury Review

Very Good

This is the kind of British rom-com that sneaks up on you when you least expect it and leaves you with a huge smile on your face at the end. It's not particularly clever or sharp, but it's packed with terrific moments that grow on us. And the characters are particularly engaging, making far more of the film than its one-joke gimmick: fat man dances salsa.

Nick Frost plays Bruce, a chubby office worker who was a salsa champion as a child but turned his back on dance after some nasty bullying. Now he learns that his sexy new American boss Julia (Jones) is studying salsa herself, and her flirty manner suggests she might be interested, against the odds. Especially since swaggering office rival Drew (O'Dowd) is after her. So with the encouragement of his sister Sam (Colman), Bruce looks up his old mentor (McShane) and gets to work. His fellow lonely-hearts pals (Kinnear and Plester) think he's nuts, but encourage him. And he finds an unlikely ally in over-eager fellow dance student Bejan (Novak).

Both predictable and rather implausible, the plot certainly isn't what holds our attention here. It's the colourful people on-screen, each played to perfection by a gifted cast. Frost holds the film together with a lively performance that's surprisingly never played as a comedy of embarrassment (he can actually dance). Jones is clearly having a ball, even if generating any real chemistry with Frost eludes her, while Colman lights up the screen in a small role. And the shameless scene-stealers are O'Dowd, as a sleazy low-life straight from The Office, and especially Novak in one of those side-roles that becomes a comedy icon. We want to see a spin-off about him.

Cuban Fury - Alternative Trailer

Bruce Garrett is a self-doubting, overweight office worker who has very little luck with women - as his co-worker never fails to remind him. When his new boss shows up and he finds that she is a beautiful woman named Julia, he desperately wants to impress her but can't see himself having any assets that she could want in a man - that is until he sees her displaying her moves at a salsa dancing event. It sparks an old passion within Bruce, who used to be a budding dancer aiming for the UK Junior Salsa Championships when he was 13-years-old before some severe bullying ruined his performance confidence forever. He decides to take up the sport again by attending salsa dancing lessons ahead of an upcoming show, however his co-worker also has his heart set on Julia and his moves could seriously threaten Bruce's wooing plans.

This charming British comedy is about love, passion and following your dreams and has been produced by the producers of Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun Of The Dead'. 'Cuban Fury' has been directed by James Griffiths ('Free Agents', 'Episodes') and written by Jon Brown ('Mongrels', 'After You've Gone'), and is set for release this Valentine's Day, February 14th 2014.

Cuban Fury Trailer

Bruce Garrett may not have much going for him being overweight, low in confidence and only attractive to the right sort of girl, but there was a time when he had passion and drive - as a 13-year-old dancer with dreams of winning the UK Junior Salsa Championships. However, that all changed after suffering at the hands of bullies who ground him so far down that he abandoned his performing future. Things take a desperate turn when his beautiful new boss Julia catches his eye and it so happens that she has a passion for salsa dancing too; seizing what could possibly be his only chance at true love, he brushes off his dancing shoes and sets out to fulfil his dream once again and win her heart.

'Cuban Fury' is a heartwarming British comedy from the producers of 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun Of The Dead'. Directed by James Griffiths ('Free Agents', 'Episodes') and written by Jon Brown ('Mongrels', 'After You've Gone'), it's the story of how love can ignite long-buried passions in an instant - no matter what is there to hold you back. Very appropriately, it is set to hit UK cinemas on Valentine's Day next year (February 14th 2014).

Kaya Scodelario Skins Kayvan Novak Jack O'Connell Nicholas Hoult Lara Pulver Hannah Murray

Skin's Effy Stonem is hardly the kind of girl you'd expect to be working in business but here she is in series seven working ambitiously as a trader for a London hedge fund. The seventh and final series of E4's long-running Skins drama, entitles Skins Redux, is about to air in the UK. However now, the drug-taking, promiscuous, hedonistic days of youth for Effy, Cassie and Cook are long gone as they wrestle with the practicalities of adult life, such as holding down a stable job, the loneliness of the big city, and the resurfacing of the past.

Effy's Life Has Changed Incredibly Since Last Time We Saw Her.

The seventh series will be quite short - in just six parts - but will be divided into three stories following Cassie, Effy and Cook. Each part will be themed differently: 'Skins Pure', 'Skins Rise' and 'Skins Fire,' with a different character taking centre stage in each. The once reserved girl who went off the rails, Effy, brother to Tony Stonem (Nicholas Hoult), is followed through her job working for a hedge fund firm where she embarks on an affair with her boss; with things getting out of hand in typical Skins style, according to The Mirror. Cook (Jack O'Connell) is working as a drug dealer in Manchester but after he falls for a woman he really shouldn't, he is forced to confront his violent past.

Four Lions Review

Very Good
Treating a taboo topic with broad comedy is dangerous business, as it risks trivialising something serious while offending rather a lot of people.

Fortunately, these filmmakers are smart enough to get away with it.

Omar (Ahmed) is a shopping mall guard with a wife (Kalidas) and son, plus chucklehead pals Waj, Barry and Fessel (Novak, Lindsay and Akhtar) who like him aspire to be jihadists. Omar and Waj even go to a Pakistan training centre, but when things go wrong there, they decide to prove their devotion with a terrorist attack. Meanwhile, Barry has drafted in jokester Hassan (Ali), and after building and, erm, testing a few bombs, four of them head for London as suicide bombers.
