Bubblegum pop princess Katy Perry will hardly have been happier when her fly-on-the-wall documentary Part Of Me hits cinemas this weekend, that said the candid film shows the 'California Girls' singer at her lowest point as it offers an insight into the last days of her marriage with comic Russell Brand.
The documentary shows the 27-year-old Perry at her emotional tipping point as she collapses into tears just moments before she is due to take to the stage in Brazil. However, ever the showgirl Perry insists that the show must go on and the next scenes are of her sporting her famous mega-watt smile as she takes to the stage. Brand, who is ten years Perry's senior, filed for divorce in February this year, and Part Of Me highlights the highs and the lowest lows of the singer's life around this time, including her struggle to accept the broken relationship.
The 'I Kissed A Girl' hit maker was on tour when Brand filed for divorce, and given their hectic lifestyles when together, served fittingly that she should be in another country when they split. The movie includes the news of the announcement and the singer's subsequent heartbreak; she later tells the cameras she still misses Brand as the film progresses.
