Katy Perry has apologised to Lily Allen over remarks she made about the singer's weight.
The US singer who shot onto the music scene with her hit I Kissed A Girl described herself as "a skinner version of Lily Allen".
Lily, no shrinking violet herself, hit back, saying Perry's US label deliberately signed her as an American version of her.
However, Perry told Us magazine that the comments were not meant to be taken seriously.
"Yeah, I made a joke about [that] earlier this year, she said I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."
Meanwhile, Lily has come to the defence of Amy Winehouse, saying the troubled singer is given a "hard time" by the media.
She told Scotland on Sunday that Amy is a "clever, intelligent, witty, funny person", but added that the public rarely get to see that side of her character.
