The Edge of Seventeen Trailer

Nadine is a junior in high school and she's never been the popular girl, she's quite, intelligent and an introvert and relies on her best friend, Krista, as the only source of company that she really enjoys - all this is in stark contrast to her elder brother, Darian who's one of the most popular kids in the school.

Even when Nadine was growing up, she never thought much to herself and let her become the school laughing stock; matters were not helped after making a few BIG style errors that left her looking a little too much like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. Since then, Nadine has grown out her short hair style and is somewhat more comfortable with herself.

Nadine's crush has just got out of Juvenile detention and to her, he's perfect and Nadine doesn't know is that Krista has a crush too, on none other than Nadine's brother Darian. This situation becomes all too apparent when Nadine finds Krista and Darian in bed together. Completely dumbfounded by the revelation, Nadine can't believe that her best friend has fallen for her brother, someone she sees as the total opposite of herself.

Fangs Review

Weak
When rubber vampire bats descend on a suburban tract community all hell breaks loose! Okay, they aren't supposed to be rubber and it's not really hell, but Corbin Bernsen's around, so it only seems like it.

With the usual mutated creatures, goofy conspiracy, nutty bad guy (Bernsen), and do-gooder law enforcers, this movie has everything expected from bad genre monster movies in recent years (see also Evolution -- same movie, bigger budget). The addition of B-list regular Tracy Nelson (The Perfect Nanny, no no -- that's a real movie!) rounds out the production.

Wild Things 2 Review

Weak
Not so much a sequel as a sexed-up WB-like reimagination of Wild Things, this crazy updating lowers the ages of everyone involved (the girls are in high school this time around), and puts them on the same faux-lesbian, doublecrossing course, as they attempt to swindle their way to millions in insurance money. Alas, nothing new happens here -- the entire story and many of the specific events are borrowed wholly from the original. Susan Ward may be somewhat hot, but she's no Denise Richards.

X2: X-Men United Review

Good

(NOTE: I've received a couple complaints about this review containing spoilers. That wasn't my intention, but I thought you should be warned.)

Opening with a chilling evil-mutant breach of White House security that feels especially ominous in today's terrorist-tinged political atmosphere, "X2: X-Men United" is gripping from frame one and doesn't let go for 135 minutes.

Breaking off from a tour of the presidential residence, a creature known as Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming in sharpened teeth, dark blue skin and extensive ceremonial scars) evades Secret Service agents by bursting into a puff of paint-like mist that instantaneously gusts across rooms and reconstitutes itself into solid humanoid form long enough to, say, snap a guard's neck, before evaporating into blue vapor again and surging into the Oval Office.
