Katie Price: Life in the Limelight
Katie Price's rise to fame began when she embarked on a modelling career, following a friend's comments that she should have some professional photos taken. She landed a modelling contract and soon started appearing topless on page 3 of The Sun.
Despite her early popularity, Price was unhappy with the size of her breasts and had them surgically enlarged to a D cup from a B.
Katie Price has often expanded on her career to move away from just modelling. In 1998, she auditioned for a role on the US TV series Baywatch. She has also guest-presented The Big Breakfast, as well as playing herself in Dream Team and Footballers' Wives which starred Laila Rouass and Gillian Taylforth.
In 2004, she appeared on I'm A Celebrity.Get Me Out Of Here, the reality show set in a jungle. It was on this show that she met her future husband, Peter Andre. During the show, she also fell out with the former Sex Pistols front man, John Lydon. The show also featured Kerry Katona (who won the show) and Jennie Bond. Price then returned to a new series of the show in 2009 but left the show after one week after continually being selected to do the gruelling 'bushtucker' trials.
A number of documentaries and fly-on-the-wall series have centered on Katie Price (some during her marriage to Peter Andre). Among these series were: Jordan: Living With A Dream, Jordan: The Truth About Me, Jordan: You Don't Even Know Me and Jordan & Peter: Marriage & Mayhem. Following her split from her husband, Katie Price became the subject of another documentary series, What Katie Did Next.
Another money-making project for Katie Price came in December 2005, when she released an exercise fitness DVD entitled The Jordan Workout. The DVD also featured Jason Vale (also known as 'The Juice Master').
Katie Price competed against Gina G, Javine and Andy Scott Lee to become Great Britain's 2005 entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, which was held in the Ukraine that year. In the performance, she wore a bright pink latex catsuit; she was heavily pregnant at the time. She lost out to Javine.
Price also released an album of duets with Peter Andre in 2006. The album, entitled Whole New World, went into the charts at number 20 in the UK.
Katie Price has had three autobiographies published: Being Jordan (2004), which has sold over one million copies; Jordan: A Whole New World, and 2008's Pushed to the Limit. She has also had two novels published in her name - though they were ghostwritten - entitled Angel and Crystal. Another, Sapphire, was published in 2009. In 2006, Katie Price signed a £300,000 deal with Random House publishers to release a series of books, under the heading Katie Price's Perfect Ponies.
Katie Price has been chosen to advertise a number of companies and products, such as Kwik Save, Asda, Argos and Superdrug.
