Actress Jada Pinkett Smith has defended close friend Katie Holmes and her world-wind marriage to Tom Cruise.

In an interview with Jada, the wife of Men in Black star Will Smith, gushed about the grace and strength of her pal, dismissing claims in the media that the Top Gun star controls his wife and force-feeds her Scientology.

"She's got a quiet thunder. When she walks into a room, or you see her in a magazine it's a thunder that people are attracted to. It's quiet and it's very subtle, but it's extremely powerful," the Nutty Professor actress said.

Great pals of TomKat, the Pinkett-Smith clan even attended the couple's Italian wedding in November and laughed off claims that Tom controls the Dawson's Creek star, 16 years his junior.

"Tom don't run nothin' in that house! It is Katie's house. It's her world," Jada told the gossip website.

"She's young, she popped into motherhood very fast. If you think about the transition she's done, with as much grace she's had, and on top of it with the attacks I don't know how she does it."

"Kate ain't no little wimpy kitty cat," Jada added, instead describing her pal as a "tigress".
