Kathy Bates, who played the unsinkable Molly Brown in Titanic, had some choice words for NBC execs who sank her critically praised series Harry's Law last year after it drew an audience that was mostly in Bates's age group. (She's 65.) I think they treated us like s**t, Bates said Friday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills. They kicked us to the curb. They disrespected us. They disrespected our 7-11 million viewers every week. And I think they're getting what they deserve this year, thank you. Bates was apparently referring to NBC's disastrous fourth-place finish during the 2012-13 regular season. Bates is returning to weekly television next season as a regular character on the third season of American Horror Story: Coven on the FX cable network. I would like to add something on the positive note, Bates said a few minutes later. I thought after all of that, I wouldn't go back [to doing a TV series]. But I met with [writer-producer] Ryan [Murphy] and I must say that when he pitched this show to me, this little kid in me started running around jumping.
