Actress Kathy Bates knew she would win the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Misery after seeing visions of herself picking up the statuette. The star wasn't nervous when she attended the ceremony because she knew her win was a sure thing. She explains, "I knew I was gonna win. I was married at the time and I said to my husband, 'Do you think I'm going to win?' and he said, 'No.' "I forgot to thank him (during the acceptance speech)! "Of course, now since I've been back, I've thought I was going to win then, too, so it doesn't always work that way. "But there was just something about that night. I watched Daniel Day Lewis walk across the stage and I thought, 'My name is in that envelope.'"
