A man convicted of stalking actress Kathryn Erbe has been sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay a $42,000 (£26,250) fine.
Charles Nagel, 36, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was found guilty of stalking the Law & Order: Criminal Intent star via the internet last November (10) after he sent messages to her teenage daughter on social networking sites.
He was due to be sentenced in February (11) but it was delayed after a judge ruled Nagel would first have to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
On Wednesday (07Sep11), he was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay $42,000 (£26,250) in restitution for frightening the star.
Judge Jack Weinstein told Brooklyn Federal Court, "The evidence was clear - this woman was terrified. Her child was terrified. It seems to me the evidence was overwhelming."
