Opera star Katherine Jenkins often gives up speaking a day before her performances to make sure her voice is completely rested.
The Welsh mezzo-soprano goes to great lengths to protect her vocal cords, eating a strict diet and working out to make sure she's fully fit for her shows.
Jenkins has now revealed she also gives up talking to make sure she can sing properly, often staying silent for more than 12 hours before a concert.
She tells Bbc Breakfast, "I sometimes go 12 (or more) hours before a performance without speaking... It's just that the voice is a muscle and if you talk, you use it, so the only way to rest it is to be completely silent."
