Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins is to help raise funds for the victims of the New Zealand earthquake, by jetting out to the country to perform at Placido Domingo's charity concert.
The tenor, who suffered his own loss when a massive tremor killed four of his family members in Mexico City in the 1980s, is to hold a special gig in Christchurch on 6 October (11).
Proceeds will go towards restoring parts of the city which were devastated by the quake in February (11), and now Jenkins is helping the relief efforts by teaming up with Domingo for the event.
In a post on Twitter.com she writes, "Going to be in New Zealand (Christchurch) to sing with Placido Domingo (on) Oct 6 to help rebuild after the quakes."
