The $6 Million Tweet: Katherine Heigl Vs. Duane Reade Pharmacy

Katherine Heigl

It’s not exactly a secret that Katherine Heigl doesn’t have the best reputation in Hollywood. With rumors of her diva-ish antics on set, her once promising Hollywood career has recently plateaued. Heigl regularly has two cents to put in about, well, pretty much everything. So we weren’t surprised to hear that she’s unhappy about something again. Although this time we can’t decide whether she’s got a point or not. We’ll lay out the facts and you can help us decide.

Katherine Heigl lawsuit Heigl is renowned for acting like a diva

After discovering that New York pharmacy Duane Reade had used an unauthorised image of Heigl in their ad campaign, the actress has decided to sue the company for $6m. The photograph in question was taken while Heigl was filming her new television series (not a movie, a television series, she’s back on television, we repeat, she’s back on television) and a pap snapped her leaving the pharmacy.

'The Nut Job' Has Star Power, But Not Much Else

Will Arnett Katherine Heigl

In the age of Disney — back when only one, or less, animated films were released each year — they had better be good. But these days, when everything can be done electronically and studios are pressured into releasing numerous films each year, the quality may be going down.

The Nut Job - Teaser Trailer

Surly is an aptly named, grumpy and uncompassionate squirrel who's desperate to go to any lengths to store enough food for the coming winter. As he struggles to forage for nourishment in the city, he meets the rest of the neighbourhood's fauna including an excitable street rat, a fat mole and some simple-minded gophers - all of whom agree to accompany him on a major heist; the robbery of Maury's Nut Store which is guarded by a highly slobbery bulldog. The store is haven of all the kinds of nuts Surly could ever wish for and offers him an extended period of food stability. Along the way, though, he must learn what it is to work as a team and know the importance of the people around him before his temper pushes his friends away for good.

Can 'Triplets' Rescue Eddie Murphy's Ailing Hollywood Career?

Eddie Murphy Arnold Schwarzenegger Danny Devito Katherine Heigl Reese Witherspoon

Eddie Murphy has topped one of Forbes magazine's annual lists for 2012, though unfortunately for him, it details the world's most overpaid actors. The actor - who was reportedly commanding $20 million a movie around the turn of the millennium - returns just $2.30 for every $1 he is paid for each of his films.

The stats make Murphy the most overpaid actor in Hollywood, with recent flops including Meet Dave, Imagine That and comedy Tower Heist concreting his No.1 spot. The latter was the most successful of Murphy's recent flicks though it still only earned $152 million on a $75 million budget. The Beverly Hills Cop star can probably take solace in the fact that he returns SOME amount of money for investors, with 2011's most overpaid Hollywood star Drew Barrymore bringing in just 40 cents for every $1 she was paid. Murphy could claw himself out of the list in the next couple of years, with one movie in particular already generating hype. Murphy has signed on to star in Ivan Reitman's comedy Triplets, a sequel of the classic Twins, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito. The film revisits both of the original characters Julius and Vincent as they discover they have a third sibling, played by Murphy.  Even if the movie was a critical dud, Triplets would almost certainly do good business at the box-office.

Elsewhere on this year's most overpaid actors list, Katherine Heigl placed at No.2 after returning just $3.40 for every $1 she was paid for her movies. After past commercial hits including Knocked Up, Heigl has appeared in a couple of romantic-comedy bombs such as One For The Money, which took just $37 million. Reese Witherspoon was in at No.3 with $3.90 for every $1 paid, while Nicolas Cage brought in $6 for every $1.

The Big Wedding Trailer

Don and Ellie have been divorced for a long time but when their adopted son Alejandro and his fiancé Missy decide to get married, it looks to be time for a family reunion. If things weren't awkward enough with Ellie seeing that her best friend Bebe from years ago is now married to her ex-husband, Alejandro's biological mother has also decided to fly over from Columbia for the occasion. However, she happens to be an extremely devout catholic with the belief that divorce is a sin so the family's only resolution to appease her and make her feel that giving away her son was the right decision is for Don and Ellie to pretend that they are still married on the big day, to Bebe's resentment. As expected, things are not as straight forward as they planned and the days leading up to the nuptials couldn't possibly be more tense and disastrous for this unusual family.

This ridiculous though rather touching comedy has been based on the French movie 'Mon Frère Se Marie' written by Jean-Stéphane Bron and Karine Sudan and is the wonderful story of how broken families can mend or, at least, unite for their mutual relatives when it is a matter of importance. It has been directed and written by Justin Zackham ('Going Greek', 'The Bucket List') and is set to be released on May 31st 2013 in the UK.

Starring: Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, Robin Williams, Ben Barnes, Megan Ketch, Greg Paul, Christa Campbell, David Rasche, Christine Ebersole, Kyle Bornheimer,

New Year's Eve Review

Terrible
The team that made the thin-but-enjoyable Valentine's Day in 2010 reunites for another massively overextended rom-com with a remarkable A-list ensemble. But this time the stories and filmmaking overdose on ill-conceived schmaltz.

As the countdown to 2012 begins, an executive (Swank) is frazzled about a technical glitch in the iconic Time's Square ball-drop. Meanwhile, a courier (Efron) is trying to help a frumpy secretary (Pfeiffer) achieve her dreams. A chef (Heigl) is catering a glittering event while trying to avoid her rock star ex (Bon Jovi), whose back-up singer (Michele) is stuck in a lift with a lovelorn slacker (Kutcher). A mother (Parker) is worried about her teen daughter (Breslin). And a tuxedoed millionaire (Duhamel) is trying to get to an important event in the city.

Caffeine Review

Terrible
Something's always brewing at the Black Cat Café, or so they say. The advertisers behind the new independent film Caffeine want us to believe there's plenty of activity at the quirky London café. Sadly, it's not so. In fact, it's so boring that even a double-shot espresso isn't strong enough to keep to your eyes open.

Caffeine follows a series of odd events during the lunch rush at the Black Cat Café, where one disaster after another is served up as the day's "blue plate special." For example, the cook (Callum Blue) is fired by the manager, Rachel (Marsha Thomason), after she finds out he's been unfaithful to her. Rachel has no one else qualified to cook, so she throws the chef's hat to a server named Tom (Mark Pellegrino), who can't even make lasagna from a written recipe. But Rachel has no other choices. Her two other employees, Vanessa (Mena Suvari) and Dylan (Breckin Meyer) spend more time on smoke breaks then they do serving coffee.
