Katee Sackhoff is to star in 'Somnia'.
The 'Riddick' actress - who is known for her role as short tempered Dahl in the new science-fiction action film - has joined the cast of Mike Flanagan's horror movie, which will explore the thoughts of an orphaned child whose dreams and nightmares physically torture him while he lays asleep.
It is not yet known what character the 33-year-old star will play, but shooting for the movie will kick off in the autumn and will follow the bond of parent and child in a imaginative but chilling way, according to Deadline.
Flanagan and Jeff Howard are penning the script, while Mica Entertainment are co-financing the film.
Trevor Macy is producing through Intrepid Pictures alongside William D. Johnson and Sam Englebard of Demarest Films.
Focus International co-president Alison Thompson said: ''We look forward to partnering with Mike and Trevor again following 'Oculus'. Mike is quickly making a name for himself in the genre space with his unique ability to tell haunting stories with rich tones and complex character.''
