Kate Middleton and her husband William Prince Of Wales arrived in Canada on Thursday (30th June 2011) to begin their first royal tour together. Touching down at Ottawa MACdonald-Cartier International airport, the couple were all smiles for the cameras, with Kate revealing a change of outfit from the dress she donned at Heathrow Airport just hours earlier.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared relaxed as they emerged from their jet to be greeted by a string of dignitaries at the airport. Kate had changed from the Roland Mouret dress she chose for the morning departure, instead opting for an outfit by Canadian designer Erdem Moralioglu. The dress was a navy 'scoop-backed' creation featuring lace overlay. The couple will spend 9 days in the country, travelling to seven cities including Calgary, Montreal and Quebec. A record 1,400 journalists, broadcasters and photographs will be covering the visit, with just short of 100 travelling from the UK. After leaving their luxury plane, the royal couple were introduced by the foreign affairs minister John Baird to a number of individuals waiting at the edge of a red carpet.
It is reported that Kate Middleton and Prince William will attend an informal reception along with 120 young volunteers who helped with the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund tonight.
