Britain's Duchess Catherine has gone into labour.
The Duchess of Cambridge - formerly known as Kate Middleton before her and Prince William's nuptials - was taken to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, this morning (22.07.13) by car after experiencing the early stages of childbirth.
In a brief statement, Clarence House said: ''Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted to St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London in the early stages of labour.
''The duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.''
Catherine - who is expecting her first child with William - arrived at the hospital around 6am with her husband by her side.
The prince - who was also born at the Lindo Wing in 1982 - is expected to stay with his wife until their child is welcomed into the world.
Catherine - who doesn't know the sex of her baby - is to give birth in a plush delivery suite which contains champagne, luxury toiletries and a reclining chair.
The suite boasts satellite TV, Wi-Fi, radio and a fresh bouquet of flowers will be delivered every day. It is also fitted with blackout curtains to guarantee total privacy.
The royal baby will become third in line to the throne and as a result of changes in the law. The little one's title will be the Prince or Princess of Cambridge.
