Morgan Trailer

Lee Weathers evaluates potential risks in businesses, businesses that blur the lines of what could be deemed ethically correct. When Lee is assigned a new case, she journey's to a remote scientific facility where they focus in engineering human DNA. Lee is informed that their latest project is a scientifically engineered human who's developed at a far greater speed than any human. By one month old, the baby had already begun walking and her physical and mental development continued to appreciate from then.

5 years later, Morgan is almost fully formed and her handlers have grown incredibly attached to the child that they've cared for since birth. However, her human and synthetic bioengineered elements combined with laboratory style upbringing appear to affected Morgan's thought process and she's unable to set conclusive thoughts on how to behave.

When Morgan violently injures one of her doctor/handlers, Lee is brought in to evaluate what the team ought to do with her. Knowing that Lee's decision could mean the end of Morgan, they are distant from Weather's and must decide just how far they will go to save their experiment.

'Fantastic Four' Becomes A Fantastic Flop At US Box Office

Michael B. Jordan Miles Teller Jamie Bell Kate Mara Josh Trank

The latest Fantastic Four movie starring Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller opened at the US box office with a disappointing $26.2 million over the weekend, taking the number two spot and falling way short of its predicted $40million opening. The film had a budget of around $120 million and studio Fox has already lined-up a sequel for 2017.

Fantastic FourFantastic Four fell short of expectations at the US box office.

Fantastic Four will now go down as one of the worst openings for a film based on a Marvel property, taking a little more than Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance, which opened with $22.1 million in 2012. The film suffered from bad reviews and currently holds an embarrassing 8% rating on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Hugh Jackman Jennifer Lawrence Kate Mara Miles Teller James Mangold Michael B. Jordan Jamie Bell

Fox has scheduled three more upcoming Marvel movie dates so that the studios can keep continually churning out new superhero movies in the years ahead. The new films - a Wolverine and a Fantastic Four sequel and a mystery Marvel project - are plotted for release from 2017 and onwards. The next Wolverine is set for March 3, 2017, the Fantastic Four sequel is pencilled in for July 14, 2017, and the last one is due to arrive on July 13, 2018, according to Variety.

Fox Have Plotted A Release Date For The Next 'Wolverine' Movie, For 2017.

Whilst details on the latter two projects are a lot more vague, it was announced last November that Hugh Jackman will be returning to the role of the iconic mutant for a follow-up to 2013's franchise-boosting The Wolverine alongside director James Mangold.

Well Done, Internet, You've Dealt With House Of Cards Spoilers Well

Kate Mara Kevin Spacey Robin Wright Netflix

We’ve come a long way since spoiling the end of The Sixth Sense was the worst thing someone could do. Nowadays, there are millions of ways to ruin plots, deaths and endings, and as a result we’ve become hypersensitive, syphoning genuine rage towards those who let slip that Lost was all a dream. Whoops.

House of Cards season 2Do these two come to loggerheads? Well, watch it and find out!

I haven’t seen the Sixth Sense, and I don’t have to – I know everything that happens in that film. During my first watch of The Sopranos, I’d close my eyes while walking through any shop that sold DVDs in case I caught sight of the complete boxset. One day I did, and I knew that every character on that boxset made it to the final series. I cried.

With Director, Cast And Release Date Set, 'Fantastic Four' Reboot Might Work Out

Kate Mara Michael B. Jordan Miles Teller Jamie Bell

The “Fantastic Four” reboot cast has been finalized (almost). The release date has been set – June 19, 2015, according to Deadline – and now the movie has its four leads as well. As predicted, Fantastic Four will star Kate Mara as Invisible Girl, Fruitvale Station breakout Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch, Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic and Jamie Bell (Nymphomaniac) as The Thing. The deals are still being negotiated, but all look fairly solid. Deadline reports that Bell and Jordan’s involvement is certain.

Kate Mara
Mara is most likely to fill Jessica Alba's shoes as Sue Storm.

The script is being penned by Simon Kinberg and Fox is handing the direction to Josh Trank. Trank has previously worked on Chronicle, so it could be said that he has some experience with sci-fi. On the other hand, this is only his second feature film, meaning that Fox is banking on a relative newcomer to kick off what will likely become the studio’s attempt at a superhero franchise, a la Avengers.

House Of Cards Won't Go For 37 Seasons, But Maybe 12, Says Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey Kate Mara

The immensely popular House of Cards kicked off its second season on Netflix today, prompting people to commence binging on the tense political drama. Kevin Spacey, who leads the show with a commanding performance, has predicted a 12 season run. Bit ambitious, don’t you think?

House of CardsHouse of Cards - let the scheming and mind games begin!

“12 years, 12 seasons,” said Spacey to Digital Spy when they asked him about the future of the show. It’s more realistic that the 37 seasons he joked about at one point, but another 10 years of House of Cards isn’t really… on the cards, so to speak. Then again, we’d love to be proved wrong.

A year after the entire House of Cards season one appeared on Netflix we're getting set to devour season two with the kind of ruthless appetite for more that Frank Underwood would be proud of. The brilliant 13-part first season set the scene for house majority whip Frank Underwood's game-playing ascension to the Vice Presidency just as some of Washington's darkest secrets were beginning to be unearthed by Zoe Barnes and her team.

A veritable slow-burner of a drama, the compelling and addictive House of Cards features the well-placed Kevin Spacey as the relentlessly ambitious Democrat Frank Underwood alongside his icy, scheming wife Claire, played by the terrifyingly talented Robin Wright, who manages a non-profit organisation whilst setting her sights on undoing those who have wronged her or her powerful and manipulative husband.

Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Uma Thurman were just some of the stars who attended the UNICEF Snowflake Ball, with Gomez in particular looking keen to put reports of her and Justin BIeber breaking up and then perhaps getting back together on the back burner for the evening. Perry looked stunning, as did TV actress Allison Williams, but Gomez stole much of the limelight, putting on a smiley face as she donned sparkly black number and chatted freely with the room at 42nd Street.

Ironclad Review

OK
Turning a rarely dramatised chapter of British history into a riotously grisly romp, this film starts out strongly as an exploration of people power then soon degenerates into a series of increasingly gory clashes.

After signing the Magna Carta in 1215, King John (Giamatti) launches a bloodbath of revenge against the barons who forced his signature. So Marshall (Purefoy), a Templar monk who has taken a vow of nonviolence, is forced to take up his sword to defend the people from their king. He joins a rabble mob led by charismatic Albany (Cox) and they head for the pivotal castle of Lord Cornhill (Jacobi). As the king lays siege to their stronghold, Marshall finds other vows tempted by Lady Isabel (Mara) and her heaving bosom.

127 Hours Review

Essential
Danny Boyle brings his considerable filmmaking energy to bear on this claustrophobic true story, and the result is a bracing thriller that puts us right into the mind of a man trapped in an unthinkable situation.

In April 2003, adventure sportsman Aron Ralston (Franco) heads into Utah's Blue John Canyon for a day of hiking. He meets two girls (Mara and Tamblyn) along the way, and stops to show them a cool underwater lake. Then he heads on his own into a narrow slit in the earth where a bolder falls and pins his right arm against the wall. Unable to move, he spends the next five days pondering for the first time his own humanity and mortality. And after trying everything imaginable, he only has one option left.

Transsiberian Review

Good
As the train rattles through the frozen tundra with its cargo of weary passengers, a melancholic detective gives the American tourists an idea of just how far into it they've stepped: "In Russia we have a saying, With lies you may go forward in the world, but you may never go back." To same extent, this is the Slavic equivalent of fortune cookie wisdom. Ah, Russia, with its apparently inexhaustible capacity for resigned suffering. But as presented here, in the context of a tight and terse thriller like Transsiberian, and coming out of the mouth of a particularly sharp Ben Kingsley, cynical bits of wisdom like that go down like an invigorating shot of chilled vodka.

In Brad Anderson's film, the scenario is one we've seen before, but it's handled here with an unusual alacrity. Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer play Roy and Jessie, a pair of young Americans who just finished a volunteering stint in China and are now taking the Trans-Siberian train all the way to Moscow. Both as comfortable in their roles as few actors are ever allowed to be, the two need little more than a handful of lines and a couple of telling looks to apprise viewers of their characters. As the good-natured Christian rube from Iowa, and the girl with a past who's looking to put it all behind her but doesn't trust herself to do so, the two are ripe for the plucking. So when a dark and sexy couple in black move into Roy and Jessie's cabin, it's all a question of time before the Americans find themselves in a situation they're less than prepared for.

Zoom Review

Weak
Upon its release, Zoom was instantly reviled not only as one of the worst movies of 2006, but one of the worst movies ever made. As I write this it's hovering as the 15th worst film ever per the IMDB's (admittedly unscientific) "bottom 100," one run below Troll 2.

Is Zoom worse than #17 Phat Girlz? Worse than Glitter (#23)? Worse than Alone in the Dark (#38)? Zoom is hardly a masterpiece, but, really now, it isn't that bad.

Brokeback Mountain Review

Essential
The first thing you're likely to hear about Brokeback Mountain, the new film from Ang Lee, is that it's about gay cowboys. Truthfully, that's all the novelty it has to offer. Just the thought of screen hunks Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal making out is a point of sale or controversy, depending on your point of view. But once you get past the hook, what emerges is a much more traditional, but no less affecting, tragedy about two people who simply cannot have what they want.

Ennis Del Mar (Ledger) and Jack Twist (Gyllenhaal) meet while working for Joe Aguirre (a menacing Randy Quaid), looking after sheep on the eponymous mountain. Their friendship develops over fairly archetypal lines. Ennis is the stoic one, Jack the mischievous one. Lee wisely lets this develop naturally over time. Ultimately, though, in a burst of passion, the two reveal what's been simmering since they first saw each other.

Urban Legends: Bloody Mary Review

Weak
The Urban Legend series ran out of urban legends to play with about midway through the second film, but that hasn't stopped them from wrapping up the thing with a lame, yet not wholly unwatchable, third film.

A gang of nobodies populates the movie, which is only tenuously related to the prior two films. Here, the story is all about Bloody Mary (whose legend was critical to the first film), a spirit who would appear if her name was chanted three (or five) times while staring into a mirror. Urban Legends 3 tells us Mary's backstory: In 1969, she was drugged and inadvertently killed by her highschool dance date, and her body was locked in a trunk inside the high school.

Random Hearts Review

Terrible
What does Hollywood have against us? Year in and year out, we fork over millions and millions of dollars to see movies that are consistently bad. Sure, a few of them are good and more than a few of them are enjoyable, but most of the movies are bad. Yet we still pay. And still they proceed to torture us with movies like Random Hearts.

Torture is the correct term for such a movie, one that spends two hours and twenty minutes evoking boredom, yawns, and snores from the audience. There is no kinder way to put it. However, I could be completely honest and say that this is perhaps the worst two and a half hours I have spent in a movie theatre all year... and I've seen a lot of really bad movies.
