Kate Hudson likes shooting in high definition because she gets to wear much lighter make-up.
Kate Hudson thinks HD filming has been good for her skin.
The 'Fool's Gold' actress - who is the face of Almay cosmetics - says the use of high definition means viewers don't want to see heavy use of make-up, so she is pleased to be able to use lighter products on screen.
She explained: ''Nowadays, because movies are in HD, we're using lighter make-up because you want to be able to see the skin.
''So we're actually starting to use more of the Smart Shade Make-up, which has good coverage but doesn't have that heaviness. No one wants to see that heavy foundation on screen, but to see some skin and still get that nice, even tone can be a trick.''
Kate is particularly pleased with the changes because she struggles with sensitive skin when she has been working and using make-up every day.
She told PEOPLE: ''When I'm working every day and having to put makeup on, my skin gets very sensitive.''
And while the blonde beauty still asks the professionals she works with for make-up tips, she has picked up some knowledge of her own, including the best use of colour.
She said: ''I remember one time I put on this green mohair sweater and my eyes got so emerald green.
''I went, 'OK, this is a good sign! Maybe I'll find an eye shadow that has that kind of colour.'''
