Kate Hudson has been named the new face of Ann Taylor.

The actress will front the spring 2012 campaign for the women's clothing line - taking over from Demi Moore - and is thrilled to have been chosen, as she has always admired the "sophisticated" brand.

She told WWD: "As a young girl, I looked up to the sophisticated style of Ann Taylor. So it's been very cool to see how the brand has evolved to meet the changing needs of modern women."

The campaign will see Kate wearing the label's designs in print, outdoor and online adverts with the photographs taken by Tom Munro.

Kristen Dykstra, senior vice-president of brand marketing for Ann Taylor said: "Kate is a dynamic woman who truly embodies the new Ann Taylor.

"While she is most known as a beautiful and talented actress, she is also a devoted mother, daughter, sister and philanthropist who manages to do it all with a radiant smile, joie de vivre and effortless style."

In 2011 Demi worked with the brand saying she too had always aspired to be associated with the label.

She said: "I feel like I've known Ann Taylor since I was a kid. I've watched the clothes move into support for the working woman.

"It used to be a lot of suiting. I've seen as we've changed, that they've changed, reflecting on how we live as modern women, which is wearing things that take us from day to night . From workout to work to weekend."
