Kate Hudson, the American actress and star of 'Almost Famous', has announced her engagement to the Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy. Kate Hudson confirmed the news during an appearance on the 'Today Show' on Wednesday (27th April 2011), after host Matt Lauer had noticed she was wearing a ring on her left hand.
The pair first fuelled engagement rumours shortly after news broke that Hudson was expecting the couple's first child. Speaking earlier today, the actress said, "I haven't really announced it, I was waiting for someone to notice". She added that Bellamy asked for her hand in marriage during a "very romantic" proposal in New York City a few weeks ago. The couple have gone increasingly public with their relationship in recent months, often being photographed hand-in-hand. Bellamy gave his wife-to-be a shout out when accepting Muse's 'Best Rock Album' award at the Grammy Awards earlier this year, thanking his "beautiful, pregnant girlfriend over there". Hudson was previously married to the Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson but the couple divorced in 2007.
Kate Hudson is currently starring in the romantic comedy 'Something Borrowed' with Ginnifer Goodwin and Colin Egglesfield. She is rumoured to be starring in the forthcoming Linda Lovelace biopic titled 'Lovelace'. The movie will document the tumultuous life of the former adult movie star, who became a feminist and anti-porn crusader.
