Kate Beckinsale could be set to star in 'Total Recall'.
The 'Van Helsig' actress is believed to have beaten off stiff competition from the likes of Eva Green, Eva Mendes and Rosario Dawson to be offered the role of Lori, the character made famous by Sharon Stone in the 1990s version of the movie.
With Kate's husband Len Wiseman directing the movie, Irish hunk Colin Farrell is set to assume the role of lead character Douglas Quaid, while Jessica Biel will play Melina, the second female lead, who helps Quaid on his mission.
Shooting on the film - which originally starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Quaid - will begin in May, and producer Neal Moritz recently claimed the 'Total Recall' remake is much "closer" to the original book.
He said: "It's closer to the book, the big different is we don't go to space. Instead of it being a spaceship that takes us to another planet, there's something that takes us from one side of the plane to another that's really interesting."
