Katarina Witt is best known for her enormous haul of medals and championship titles, which she amassed throughout her career as an amateur and then professional figure skater. The 46 year old, originally from Berlin, Germany (born at a time when both the city and country were divided by the Berlin Wall) is now known for her role as a judge on the popular TV talent show Dancing on Ice. However, she also holds the unusual title of being only the second star to sell out an issue of Playboy, for whom she modelled in 1998.

Chesney Hawkes could be forced to pull out of this year's Dancing On Ice before setting foot on the ice following a damaging ankle injury. The singer, still best known for his 90s hit The One and Only, missed the show's official press conference earlier this week and looks unlikely to make the launch show at the weekend.

With all of the contestants now announced for Dancing On Ice, Jennifer Ellison and Matthew Wolfenden are current favourites to win the seventh series of skating show, with bookmakers offering odds of 4/1. The champion skier and TV ski commentator Chemmy Alcott is not far behind, along with the Sugababes singer Heidi Range and the former Blue Peter presenter Andy Akinwolere.
