Rapper Kanye West is mining a new source for inspiration on his forthcoming album - because he wants it to sound like Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand.
West is readying upcoming disc Late Registration for release and has been paying close attention to the TAKE ME OUT stars' drum sound.
He says, "They're my favourite band. There's a bit of their feel to my new album. I told them I really liked how grimy their drums were and I was asking all types of questions about their sound."
And it seems the feeling is mutual.
Franz Ferdinand singer ALEX KAPRANOS says, "We've been talking a lot about production and we really feel the most cutting-edge stuff is being done in the world of hip-hop right now - Kanye West's a good example."
