Hip-hop star Kanye West has landed on top of Blender magazine's Hot 100, beating out the likes of Coldplay, Eminem and Gwen Stefani.

The JESUS WALKS rapper - who released Late Registration, the follow-up to his acclaimed debut album COLLEGE DROPOUT, yesterday (30AUG05) - has never been shy about praising his own work, and now editors of the US music publication are joining him.

Blender's CHRIS NORRIS writes, "So, what does it take to top Blender's Hot 100? First, record a once-in-a-lifetime, legend making hip-hop masterpiece. Then, do it again. It's easy if you're Kanye West."

A stunned West says of the accolade, which places him ahead of 99 people and events, "Damn, that's crazy. It's a lot of pressure."

The top 10 is as follows:

1. KANYE WEST

2. COLDPLAY

3. GWEN STEFANI

4. White Stripes

5. REALITY TV

6. 1990S ALT ROCK

7. Mariah Carey

8. Shakira

9. Paris Hilton

10. EMINEM / 50 CENT / Dr Dre / The Game.
