The rapper displays the video for his controversial new single 'on stuff'
Okay, it’s less impressive than the headline suggests; Kayne West didn’t project his new video on the earth from space, but he did project it on the sides of building across 66 different locations ON the earth - still impressive.
Included in these locations were Sydney, London, Paris, Berlin and numerous spots in North America. Of course, this was a secretive thing right up until the last minute, when Mr West linked his website, which held the locations for the projections. The track, New Slaves, was debuted while Kanye performed at the Roseland Ballroom, at a party thrown by TV network Adult Swim last week. Lyrics include: “My mama was raised in the era when/ Clean water was only served to the fairer skin/ Threw on clothes, you would've thought I had help/ But they wasn't satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself," and, “What you want a Bentley, fur coat, a diamond chain/ All you blacks want all the same things" - controversial stuff from Kanye there. Tonight should see Kayne perform the song on the season finale of Saturday Night Live.
Rumors are abounding that Odd Future and Skrillex are both rumoured to feature on Kanye’s new album, given that both acts turned up to his studio recently. MC Chief Keef and John Legend are confirmed contributors, while Daft Punk – who have taken over the world of music recently – are also rumoured to be involved.
