The rapper’s longtime collaborator Malik Yusef was asked how Kanye was doing while he walked the Grammys red carpet on Sunday night, and said his friend’s memory was “coming back”.
Kanye West reportedly suffered memory loss after his hospitalisation in November
“I’ve been to his house [and] sat down with him for about six, seven hours, just walking through his health and recovery,” Yusef told Popsugar . “His memory is coming back, which is super good. [He’s] just healing, spending time with his family.
“Saint (West’s youngest child) is getting big and is walking, playing with toys, so that invigorates him,” he continued. When asked if Kanye was busy working on new projects, Malik added: “He's not working, just going through processes.”
West was hospitalised in November, reportedly suffering from sleep deprivation and extreme dehydration, days after an onstage meltdown in Sacramento. The hospitalisation led to the cancellation of all remaining dates on his Saint Pablo tour.

Kanye’s mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, was also asked about the rapper while on the Grammy’s red carpet. Speaking about his absence from the awards to US Weekly, Kris said: “The truth is he’s got a big fashion show in New York because it’s New York Fashion Week.
“And my entire family is back there. … Some of the kids are on their way tomorrow. He’s got a lot of work to do. We wish he could be here!” Kanye will debut his Yeezy Season 5 collection during NYFW tomorrow (Wednesday 15th).
