You better believe it
This is a joke, surely? Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have gone and called their baby North West. Or something. People were saying years ago: ‘it would be funny if Kanye called his first kid North’ and now they’ve only gone and done it.
The relationship between Kim and Kanye has been well documented. There was the Kris Humphries court case, which isn’t fully resolved yet as far as anyone knows, then there was Kanye getting all annoyed with the press for getting too involved. In fact, in a recent interview with The New York Times, West said he did not like talking about his family or the arrival of his child. "Like, this is my baby. This isn't America's baby," he said. But if this baby name is true, and they have indeed called her North West, or North Kardashian-West, then the media are only going to scrutinize them further. TMZ broke the news, along with People, citing a birth certificate as proof. And it’s pretty concrete proof. The document, filed in Los Angeles County, features only Kim's signature and reveals that her daughter was born at 5:34 a.m. on June 15.
Musician Frank Zappa's daughter Diva Muffin still probably takes the biscuit – or indeed the muffin – for the most ridiculous baby name, but North West is up there – it has to be. Nori, the Japanese word for a type of seaweed, will apparently be her nickname. No less ridiculous K&K, no less ridiculous.
